Raising the Status of Apprenticeships
3rd June 2019
We are pleased to announce that three apprentices from John Wainwright and Co. undertaking Mentor’s Level 2 Mineral Processing Mobile and Static Plant Apprenticeship programme have successfully completed their apprenticeship in just sixteen months after starting their journey in December 2017.
The three apprentices, all employed by John Wainwright and Co, have worked across their two asphalt plants at Moons Hill and Avonmouth since the start of their apprenticeships in 2017 undertaking practical and theoretical work-based learning units and a variety of training courses including the operation of the mobile or static plant equipment, health, safety and environmental practice and industry specific training to help equip them with the essential foundations needed to develop a successful career within the mineral processing and associated industries.
Our apprenticeship programme has been delivered across a number of sites and sectors in the industry and meets the latest requirements of the apprenticeship standard with MP Awards conducting all End-Point Assessments.
Tracy Colton, Head of Apprenticeships at Mentor said:
“It’s been great to watch the three apprentices develop over the course of the programme. The knowledge, skills and behaviours they have learned as well as the courses they have attended and their commitment to their roles has made them valued members of the team and I can’t wait to see where they go in the future.”
Apprenticeships allow businesses to grow their own workforce by addressing the demand for innovative and advanced skills to be brought into the industry. At Mentor, we understand the need for these new skills and each of our programmes have been specifically developed to bring just this!
